child education programmeOur Programme

Our Centre programme is based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whaariki. This curriculum is founded on the following aspirations for children:

To grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.

The centre’s philosophy of providing a child inspired programme in a stimulating, fun and positive environment is evident in our practice.

Children make choices and explore a wide range of experiences that extend skills, knowledge and understanding. Children’s ideas and experiences are successfully developed by teachers through open-ended questions and conversations. These assist children to develop independence and confidence.

As well as the centre environment children are involved in the community through visits and walks.

In term two and three we make use of a gym for an activity class once a week. Trips and visits are part of the curriculum at Bright Beginnings.

Portfolios sharing children experiences are developed for sharing with parents.
